Instructor Orientation: Edit Course Access/Registration Dates

From the Settings area of your course, you have the ability to edit both the Access Dates and Registrations Dates for your course. Course Access Dates relate to the actual start and end of your course. If you choose, the Access Dates defined for your course can restrict course availability to your students. Course Registration Dates govern the date range during which students can register for your course on the Connect 4 Education Registration site.

Both the course Access Dates and Registration Dates are set up initially by Connect 4 Education when your course is built, based on the information provided on the Course Setup Request Form. You can edit these dates, as necessary, following the steps below:

  1. Click the Settings link in the Course Navigation Menu.

Please Note: The Settings link within the Menu Bar, located at the top of the page is used when edits are being made to your personal account settings. The Settings link in the Course Navigation Menu allows you to adjust the settings associated with your course.

  6. If you are adjusting the course Access Dates, you can check off the Users can only participate in the course between these dates checkbox if you would like to limit when students will be able to access the course. Selecting this checkbox will place the course in an enrolled user's Future Enrollment course section until the start date of the course. Students will not have access to the course after the course end date. If this checkbox is not selected, an enrolled user will be able to access the course as soon as they are registered and they will continue to be able to access the course once it has ended. (In this case, students may or may not be able to complete courseswork. This would depend on whether availabitlity dates have been set for coursework items.)

Please Note: When using this checkbox, instructors and other course administrators will still have access to the course outside these dates.

  7. When finished with your edits, click the Update Course Details button to save your changes.
