Upload Scores to the Gradebook

You can use a .csv file to upload changes to your course Gradebook.

Please Note: This feature should be used with extreme caution!

First, you would need to download the existing grades from the Gradebook using the instructions above. Once this has been done, you can edit the grades as necessary and re-upload the same file. Any changes you make to the file will appear in Canvas once you re-upload the .csv file. Do NOT change the file name prior to re-uploading. The file name must remain the same as the file downloaded.

  1. Click the Grades link on the Course Navigation menu.
  2. Click the Settings icon and click the Upload Scores (from .csv) link.

  5. Click the Save Changes button to update grades.

Once the upload process is complete, you can view the updated scores in the Gradebook.
